Species of Snakes around Perth Regions

There are five species of snakes that humans may encounter in and around Perth regions.

  1. Carpet Pythons are generally found off the ground in trees and pergolas, in shed shelves and rafters or roofs of houses. They have long fancied sheds and many a farmer has welcomed them knowing that they will help keep down the mice and rats. Click here to know more about Carpet Pythons.

  2. Dugites are mainly found in tree stumps, firewood, rubbish heaps and sheds. Click here for more information about Dugites.

  3. King Brown (Mulga Snakes) are mainly found in sheds, rock heaps and fallen timber. Click here for more information about King Browns.
